Becca Klaver was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She attended the University of Southern California, where she entered as a screenwriter and left as a poet. After graduating, she returned home to work in underserved schools, first as an AmeriCorps*VISTA, and then as a middle-school teacher. Currently she is an MFA candidate at Columbia College Chicago, where she serves on the editorial board of the Columbia Poetry Review. Becca is also a poet-in-residence for the Poetry Center's Hands on Stanzas program.
